The '''Palazzo Giustinian''' from 1861 houses the '''Glassmaking Art Museum''', internationally renowned for being the wonderful collection of glass, from the archaeological II century b.C., to the famous ''' Barovier Cup''' of the fifteenth century, to the most recent creations of glass art.
The Palace was built and designed by '''Antonio Gaspari''' from 1680.
The bishop of [[Torcello]] Marco Giustiniani wanted it, who moved the episcopal seat here, because of malaria which was rampant in Torcello, electing the same time in the nearby Cathedral [[Basilica dei Santi Maria e Donato]].
The diocese of Torcello was suppressed in 1818 and [[Murano]] came under the jurisdiction of [[Venice]]. In 1840, what had been the Bishop's Palace became the seat of the Municipality of [[Murano]].
